Friends of the Burke Center
Since this website
has gone public the following people have come forward with aid and materials
of many forms pertaining to the Burke Center's mission of remembering and promoting the legacy of Dr.
Albert E. Burke. It has taken many forms
from sending encouragement, program scripts and video clips to aid in placing
articles in front of the public. All
have been deeply appreciated and we honor those here who have led the way in
this mission of remembrance:
Barry
Davis who helped to obtain films of Dr. Burke's TV shows that were stored in
Cody, Wyoming & transferred Probe to DVD
Phillip
Wooding who sent a treasure trove of Burke memorabilia saved from right
after the fire at the Burke home in Cheshire, CT.
Tom
Condon, Assistant Editorial Page Editor of The Hartford Courant, for his
diligent work in bringing a major article on Dr. Burke to print on November 23,
2008.
Natalie
Miles of Brigham Young University for her ongoing work to have the 1964 BYU
Speech of the Year by Dr. Burke be made publicly available
L. Neil
Smith for his wonderful June 9, 2010, blog "Looking for Burke"
recounting his early exposure to Dr. Burke's way of thinking.
Dan
Sanders and his wife who aided Dr. Burke in his latter years.
Tita Owre who found the film Cuba: The Battle of America and provided the URL to view it. (See
Ira Gallen who thoughtfully alerted us to his posting of Dr. Burke
moderating a panel discussing the work and philosophy of Dr. Albert Schweitzer. See:
